Who are the B’ASS Fisherwomen?
After a few days of trolling the ICAST show floor in Orlando and consistently rattling off our B’ASS “elevator speech,” it became obvious that Nat and I needed to clarify the message about our mission and brand.
Here are a few of the most frequently asked Q&A’s…
Question: Are you two just a couple of bass fishing freshwater gals?
Answer: No. We fish BOTH fresh and saltwater. The name B’ASS refers to the “bad ass” ambition that we share when it comes to learning as much as we can about sportfishing. Since both Nat and myself are huge advocates of continuing education, we have studied and noted several “bad ass” (experienced, educated, and empowered) female anglers such as Joan Wulff, Marsha Bierman, Joan Vernon, and Dr. Julie Ball. These women have inspired and motivated us throughout the process of building this blog, which we hope will serve as an online resource for millions of others who are developing a passion for the outdoors (and fishing in particular).
Question: Do we pride ourselves on having photos taken of us in bikinis with our catches?
Answer: No. There is a reason why we created our line of “Girl With a Lure” shirts.
Question: Do we claim to know everything about fishing?
Answer: No. We’re always learning new things about different species and traveling to new places… that’s precisely what we love about sportfishing.
Question: Do we have a blast fishing together and are we competitive?
Answer: Heck Yeah! We almost always have a wager going (however, we did resolve to quit betting on wine, cookies, cupcakes and other baked goods and started to work out with David Simmons, so please help out with some healthier suggestions). When one of us catches a bigger fish than the other, the ride home afterwards is typically pretty tense.
Question: Is that all you two do? You just fish all week?
Answer: No. We both have full time gigs in the online marketing and advertising industry. Debbie is CEO at Clever Clicks, LLC and Natalie is CEO at Fox&Rabbit Marketing. We fish evenings, weekends, in the wee hours of the mornings, and on our vacations. Feel free to email us, Facebook us, tweet us, and comment on the blog. Just be patient if you don’t get a response right away ‘cause we’re usually in the midst of multiple projects.
